Fixed a little error in my RSS feed, so there shouldn't be any more broken links. For now. I should probably find a way to automate that, ha.

Anyhoo, sorry for the delay in posting- made some last minute decisions last week that required some planning and scheduling.

One thought I kept coming back to in that mountain jungle is family. I had to leave home in my early twenties to follow my own path. As I ducked and weaved and struggled, I justified having to miss out on family events, (birthdays and holidays and such) as necessary due to work.

I spent fifteen years running around in circles, chasing my own tail in San Francisco, three thousand miles away from pretty much anyone that cared about me. Not even really building a career, just working. Laboring. Exchanging my time for cash. Round and round.

Now that I've left the rat race behind, at least for now, what excuses do I have for not spending more time with the ones I love?

I still have a path to walk- in February I have more travel plans abroad. After wrapping up things in the Dominican in late-January I was going to stop back in Florida before heading out again.

That would leave me, what, 4-5 days to spend with the fam? After almost three months of zero contact? I felt like I needed more time, and realized, duh, I already had it.

Would spending another few weeks on a mountain prove something that two months didn't? And I'm not even "proving" anything anyway- this was always a journey of self-improvement, to cleanse my mind and body of the toxicity I had let in, and to discipline myself into being more mindful of my consumption.

When the distractions of the world were stripped away, my thoughts kept coming back to family. So, I decided to head back a little early. And if I was going back early, I may as well, as the song says, "be home for Christmas".

So, I'm now back in Orlando for a little bit. More thoughts will come, I'm sure. And I'm finishing up an article about the jungle experience, and I still have to figure out where I'm heading next. So, stay tuned! For now:

Happy holidays, everyone :D
